Summary
Once upon a time, a dashing young British Army officer and a lovely student nurse fell deeply, magically in love. Then he was shipped off to Korea and they never heard from one another. Forty years later, fate brings them together again. Series 4: when Sandy moves into the Pargetter household, Lionel finds himself surround by females and wonders if he has done the right thing by moving in with Jean; the American producers have requested some spicier rewrites in Lionel's script; Jean devises a plan to get rid of Lionel's unhelpful secretary; convinced her husband is having an affair, Penny--Jean's sister-in-law--insists on moving in with Jean and Lionel; while the American producer scouts locations for the miniseries, Jean and Lionel hear some unexpected but welcome news from Lionel's father; Lionel proposes to Jean, and she accepts; Jean and Lionel set a date for their wedding and Lionel finishes his script for the miniseries; Judy has a new romantic interest; the miniseries finally enters production, albeit with "improvements."
